IT’S A NEW YEAR

2021 is behind us, Covid is still with us. Even though it has caused us to experience slowdowns in some areas, delays in others, postponements in training and set up of our POD systems and many missionaries becoming sick or needing to leave the field for a period of time or changing country assignments completely, the work of the Lord through Africa’s Hope has continued.

Libraries are still being sent out and set up, shipments are finding new routes to get to destinations, workers are being found, donors continue to give, translations and printing of new curriculum and translation of existing curriculum, training of leadership and Bible school students is happening; with God’s help and divine wisdom and His ability to make doors where none exist we move forward.

Perhaps a little slower and definitely in different and diverse ways, but forward none the less.

Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue to work to educate leaders and pastors across Africa to take the gospel to their own communities, towns and cities.

Portuguese Books

We are pleased to announce that the first shipment of Portuguese textbooks have been received at the Africa’s Hope warehouse. It has been a long process to translate some of our textbooks into Portuguese and to get them printed and shipped to us at Africa’s Hope. Portuguese is the fourth largest language group in Africa; spoken primarily in Mozambique and Angola. These books have been much anticipated by the national church and Bible schools in Angola and Mozambique.

There will be much rejoicing when these shipments of Portuguese books reach their destinations.

Living Between Two Worlds

Today I “attended” church online; it’s not my preferred way to attend church but during this time when Covid is surging again it is the way I must worship to protect myself with a compromised immune system.

Pastor’s sermon talked about living between two worlds. The Apostle Paul addresses this in II Corinthians 5 when he talks about the fact that we are “living in tents” here in this life but that someday we will be living in our permanent heavenly homes.

While we are living “between two worlds”, we have two purposes in life. The first is to please Jesus and the second is to proclaim Jesus.

Our missionary calling embraces these two purposes. We continue to effectively do both as we work at Africa’s Hope (Tim) and Africa House – Communications (Joyce).

We thank you for your prayers and your support as we live out God’s call on our lives.
